Day of Desires

JESUS IS BETTER THAN WE THOUGHT
The Jews expected their Messiah to save them.
They expected Him to fulfill God's promises, overthrow their enemies, and establish His kingdom.
Instead, they watched Jesus hide miracles, speak in parables, and seemingly delay the blessings they longed for.
Honestly, I relate to them.
Many of us know Christ, yet still wonder why some blessings seem delayed.
Then a thought came to me: Jesus wants to bless us even more than we want the blessing!
He wanted to tell His disciples everything.
He wanted to heal everyone.
He wanted to spread His gospel everywhere.
Yet He didn't.
Not because He lacked power.
Not because He lacked love.
But because He perfectly submitted to the Father's timing.
Before Christ could reign, He had to Atone.
Before He could restore all things, He had to die for all things.
His patience allowed Him to postpone His own desires so that He could ultimately fulfill them.
I used to think Jesus lived the greatest life imaginable.
Now I picture Christ patiently waiting during His mortal ministry for the day when He would do even more.
The day when He will heal every wound.
Answer every question.
Heal every soul.
And fill the earth with His goodness.
Maybe the Second Coming is not only the day we have been waiting for.
Maybe it is the day He has been waiting for.
